GlobaLab is a non-profit organisation that seeks to improve the way our societies understand and respond to the challenges
of a globalised world. We work with individuals and organisations who are willing to bring creative thinking into the way we achieve a more just,
peaceful and sustainable world.
We set up GlobaLab in 2001, as a response to the violence and rhetoric surrounding the G8 summit in Genoa. In Italy, like in the rest of the world,
the processes and effects of globalisation are creating deep scars in our societies, but also huge opportunities to improve the way millions of us
live. Instead of sitting down collectively and analysing what globalisation is doing to our planet, the major players on the world stage are becoming
entrenched in their own positions and blind to anything but their own self interest.
GlobaLab was born as a non-political space in which to generate ideas and turn them into actions. For this reason, we like to think of it as a
“project-tank”. With time, GlobaLab has evolved into an incubator for creative projects and pioneering initiatives that truly respond to the
challenges of globalisation. As a vector and a promoter of new approaches to social change, - in Bologna, in Italy, in Europe and across the whole
planet - GlobaLab strives to think and act both locally and globally.
